Spice up your social calendar at the Bridgeport

The start of summer on the Murray River is shaping up a little differently this year, and while we wait for the high flows to subside, we’re taking every other opportunity in the region to enjoy the river in any way we can.

One example is spending our time, overlooking the historic twin bridges at the $45 million, six-storey, riverfront Bridgeport Hotel. Recently announced as Australia’s best regional hotel, this incredible venue provides one of the most epic front terraces, allowing visitors to take in the sight of the mighty Murray from high above it.

The bonus this summer, is that it will also be putting on its biggest calendar of events which will help spice up your weekends, and allow you to support the Murray River communities, even when some of the on-water activities are limited.

What's coming up

  • School holiday fun – close up Magic 10th and 17th July from 5.30pm in The Lounge
  • Xmas in July Trivia Night 28th July, 3 course dinner
  • Belly of Laughs 1st September – Comedy host by Funny Adelaide
  • Wedding Expo 1St October
  • Friday Fright Night Trivia 31st October
  • Melbourne Cup Luncheon 7th November
  • Deck The Halls 8th December Xmas Show (Early bird Tickets still available)
  • These Days & Freakshow – Powderfinger & Silverchair cover band 16th December

Elevate the event experience in one of the Bridgeport’s contemporary river view rooms. Boasting the exceptional Murray Bridge landscape, one peak out the window will inspire you to explore the region.

The added bonus, is that if you’re an overnight guest you can use the gorgeous infinity pool perched alongside the cocktail bar – the perfect way to cool off this summer.

More to explore

A weekend in Murray Bridge will immerse you in food, nature and action experiences. To get up close and personal with your room’s river view, book a guided kayak tour with Freedom Boat Hire where the experts will take you to the best spots along the water.

If you’d prefer an inland adventure, a short trip to Monarto will land you at the largest safari park outside of Africa, where you can get in touch with your wild side. The Monarto Safari Park team recently unveiled the Land of the Lemurs, the newest place to spend time with everyone’s favourite Madagascar character.

Plus, on top of all the other great features at the redeveloped visitor centre, there’s also a 32-metre-wide mural of the park’s animals, in a piece they call Monarto’s Great Race – this is incredibly popular with the kiddos (and for those who love art, discover more with a visit to the Murray Bridge Regional Art Gallery).

Our region has everything you need to soak up summer, so fill your social calendar with an event at the Bridgeport, stay for the weekend, and make unforgettable memories.
